underexposed

underexposed is the young people's strand of exposures UK Student Film Festival, which is Cornerhouse's annual student film festival, held every December.  For the past two years the Management Team have programmed underexposed and this year they've put together some special events so make sure you keep updated by checking the news page.

A Ten Point Plan For a Better LiveWire

The Management Team applied to the Big Lottery Fund in November 2005 to sustain more funding for LiveWire and they succeeded! As part of the funding application they created a ten point plan for a better LiveWire. The ten point plan highlighted areas that can be developed within LiveWire.

LiveWire Critics

The Autumn 2005 set of management meetings were concerned mainly with the setting up of LiveWire Critics. LiveWire Critics is the most regular strand of LiveWire that gives you the chance to have your say on films, art and events. Make sure you register to receive info.

LiveWire Party

The Management Team organised the LiveWire Party which took place at Cornerhouse in October 2005.  The party launched the LiveWire website and the first three LiveWire Studio films were also premiered.  The team worked hard to develop a LiveWire Website presentation, speech introductions for the films shown and they even chaired a Q & A session with some of the participants from the film productions.

Audiences Europe Conference

In 2005, two lucky members of the Management Team, Alison Kennedy and Esther Springett joined Sarah Perks, Education Director and Rebecca McKnight, Youth Projects Officer on a visit to an Audience Europe Conference in Barcelona. The team delivered a seminar to the conference delegates about marketing to young people with new technologies and they also had the chance to soak up the wonderful atmosphere of Barcelona.

LiveWire Studio Funding Meetings

In December 2004 the Management Team worked with a group of filmmakers on a funding application to First Light. First Light fund young people's filmmaking in the UK and are funded by the UK Film Council.  The Studio Award provides funding for organisations that are experienced in making films with young people and Livewire applied for £20 000 to make four short films.

We found out that the funding bid had been successful in January 2005 and so LiveWire Studio was born!
