Made in Manchester was a LiveWire project held at Cornerhouse over the Easter holidays in 2005. Seven young people from two Manchester city schools worked with Mawuli Afatsiawo who was Cornerhouse's artist in residence in Spring 2005. Mawuli is a video artist and illustrator from Accra in Ghana and in addition to this project, during his residence at Cornerhouse, he developed the gallery and web project Made in Ghana.

Over the four days of the LiveWire project Mawuli led the group in recording sounds from around Manchester. Prior to coming to Manchester, Mawuli had led the same project with a group of young people in Accra recording sounds from their city. Both groups edited the sounds they recorded and added their own beats and effects to make an 8-track album.

The work was exhibited at the Great Northern Warehouse as a sound installation as part of the Step Up Festival and the groups' photographs were made into postcards.
