ARTRADIO

Between June and August 2007 young people were given the opportunity to plan, prepare and deliver a series of broadcasts as part of a Cornerhouse exhibition called ARTRADIO.

LiveWire ARTRADIO broadcasts took place live in the gallery spaces at Cornerhouse which were converted into radio booths specifically for the project.  Young people co-presented shows, they put together hours of pre-recorded material and they got involved with live DJ sets which were all broadcast on FM radio and over the internet via the ARTRADIO website. 

ARTRADIO participants worked alongside resident artists, reboot.fm (Diana McCarty and Pit Schultz), Open Music Archive (Eileen Simpson and Ben White) and David Blandy. The project was also supported by Unity Radio, Manchester’s seven day underground music station.

LiveWire ARTRADIO sessions were funded by MediaBox.
